Sound Health music therapists elevate quality of life and create meaningful moments for older adults. We bring a full load of shakers, bells, drums, and other instruments (many adaptive) from around the world to engage participants, whether the community is independent, assisted, Alzheimer's/dementia, or skilled nursing. Our board-certified music therapists are highly qualified and trained to reduce stress and agitation, increase reality orientation (if applicable), promote positive socialization, and sustain a balanced and fulfilling environment of wellness.
Through active music-making, movement and music, song-writing, and therapeutic singing, therapists achieve any number of goals, according to the needs of the clients or residents. Our staff at Sound Health can use music to orient to reality, maintain physical strength and coordination, preserve cognitive skills, reduce agitation and wandering, provide basis for reminiscence, offer opportunities for socialization, and provide emotional comfort.
